Sourcing Context & Procurement Challenge
End-user hardware – particularly notebooks and peripherals – had been sourced ad hoc, resulting in outdated models, poor support, and high variability in user experience. Procurement was tasked with standardizing hardware, introducing lifecycle management, and reducing total cost of ownership.

Targets included >15% TCO savings, improved user satisfaction, and faster hardware rollout. Strategic levers included vendor consolidation, group-wide configuration standards, and leasing or lifecycle-based sourcing. IT security and compatibility with existing infrastructure were also key selection criteria.
Sourcing Strategy & Execution Approach
Procurement launched a global RFP, with mandatory compliance to predefined specs and remote support capabilities. A dual-vendor model was implemented for risk mitigation and flexibility. Logistics and deployment services were included in the contract, along with a device return/replacement program.

TCO was reduced by 17%. Hardware delivery lead times were cut by 40%, and first-time fix rates improved due to standardized setups. End-user satisfaction scores rose significantly, and IT service desk tickets related to hardware issues dropped by 25%.
Role & Contribution
We led the sourcing initiative in close coordination with IT and Finance. We managed the technical evaluation, supplier negotiations, and contract governance setup. I also facilitated rollout planning with logistics partners and ensured user feedback mechanisms were in place.
